Universal Office Supplies has always believed that profits should be re-invested to provide a substantial financial base from which to build on.

By 1990 the company had become a limited company with a turnover of £0.5 million, and the stock had grown to such an extent that the warehouse relocated to the Lords Meadow Trading Estate, Crediton, Devon, at a size of approximately 35,000 square feet (plus office facilities). In June 1999 we invested our growth profits and opened a new depot in Halifax to provide a more efficient service to our customers in the northern regions of the U.K. We added a southeast depot at Southend-on-Sea in 2003; in early 2006 50,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution facilities opened in Oxford to service the heart of England; and a Glasgow depot became operational in late 2006.

These expansions increased the company’s turnover to almost £4.75 million and advanced our customer base to an even greater proportion. Along the way we have continued to improve our standards, which has resulted in a more professional approach being brought to all areas of the company, which includes vehicle fleet leasing, product knowledge and overall customer service. The company now boasts a comprehensive stock holding of both new and refurbished items, while still incorporating the drawing office equipment and stationery supplies that instigated the opening of the business. Combining this with an in-depth knowledge of the market enables us to be one of the leading specialist suppliers in the industry.
